Dear BCCFP Members,

The BCCFP has a steadfast commitment to advocating for the well-being of Family Physicians across British Columbia. We hear you that one of the most important issues today is the proposed changes to the length of residency stemming from the Outcomes of Training project originated by the CFPC. We acknowledge your concerns and we share many of your questions.

As your Board of Directors, we have been advocating to the CFPC for increased transparency and open dialogue surrounding this controversial proposal for the past two years. While the CFPC has provided a webpage to the Outcomes of Training Project there remain many unanswered questions.

We firmly believe that any changes to the length of residency training should be thoroughly examined with opportunities for broad input for consideration. Your voices are essential in shaping the future of family medicine in Canada, and we are committed to ensuring your concerns and insights are considered.

We are dedicated to supporting you, our members, in these challenging times. We will continue to push to ensure that you have the information and resources you need to navigate the evolving landscape of family medicine in Canada. We pledge to represent your interests and to ensure that your concerns and questions are addressed with the seriousness they deserve.

Sincerely,
The Board of Directors of the BC College of Family Physicians
