2026 BCCFP Awards Nominations Open
The 2026 BCCFP Awards are officially open for nominations, and we’re calling on you to help spotlight the family physicians and residents who make our communities stronger, healthier, and more connected.
Think of those fellow family physicians you admire and look up to; the colleague who shows up for their patients every single day, the physician whose name keeps coming up when talking about excellent care, the resident whose dedication stands out. This is your chance to recognize them!

My Family Doctor Award
The BCCFP My Family Doctor Award provides British Columbians with the opportunity to recognize and honour their own family doctors, celebrating the doctor-patient relationship that supports good health. Five family physicians are selected annually – one from each geographic health region.
BC Family Physician of the Year
This annual peer-nominated award recognizes a family physician who provides exemplary care to patients and takes part in activities that contribute to excellence in family medicine.
First Five Years of Family Practice Award
This annual award celebrates the outstanding contributions of two early-career family physicians. One award honours a family physician practicing in a rural community, while the other recognizes a family physician practising in an urban setting.
Resident Awards
BCCFP offers financial awards to residents in the UBC Family Practice Residency Program. There are two categories for the Residents Awards, with awards of $1500 available to five Residents.

The BC College of Family Physicians is proud to evolve our peer recognition program from the College Coin to the Circle of Impact, a name that better reflects the expansive influence family physicians have in their communities.
