The Empower category celebrates family physicians who foster the next generation through teaching excellence, educational leadership, and mentorship that advances family medicine. Our recipients demonstrate the profound impact of investing in future family physicians.
- Dr. Rebecca Topp was recognized for pursuing specialized training in areas such as Indigenous cultural safety, menopause, and breastfeeding medicine, Dr. Topp “teaches by example, showing her students that family medicine is an ever-evolving field requiring both technical skill and deep empathy.”
Advocate: Bold Leadership Drives System Change
The Advocate category recognizes family physicians who shape health policy and drive systems change, creating a more equitable, patient-centered health care system.
- Dr. Randy Grahn in Creston, BC was honoured for continuing to decrease barriers and stigma, providing excellent care for those who are often most vulnerable and underserved.
Connect: Community Cornerstones Foster Connection
The Connect category honours family physicians who serve as cornerstones of care, leading community health initiatives and fostering collaborative practices for the wellbeing of their patients and their families.
