BIPOC Peer Support Group

4-week cohorts: Wednesdays from 4:30–6 p.m. Pacific Time.

  • Cohort 2: May 13–June 3, 2026

This group offers Black, Indigenous, People of Colour (BIPOC) physicians a safe space to discuss their challenges and share their lived experiences. Participants and facilitators support and empower each other by sharing lived experience, processing burdens and leveraging strengths collectively.

Beyond Wellness: Belonging, Authenticity and Care

Beyond Wellness is an evening gathering focused on exploring authenticity, belonging, and care as essential components of health and wellbeing. Master of Clinical Psychiatry and Global Mental Health

Deadline to apply: May 1, 2026

Dalhousie University is launching a new online, part-time, two-year graduate program: the Master of Clinical Psychiatry and Global Mental Health. This program is aimed at licensed health care professionals who want to deepen their psychiatric expertise without leaving their current practice.

The curriculum covers transcultural diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychopharmacology, with a focus on cultural competence and evidence-based care. The program is designed to address gaps in psychiatric care, especially in underserved regions. The first cohort starts September 2026.

25th Annual BC Endocrine Day

May 8, 2026 at the Vancouver Holiday Inn-Centre (Broadway)

This full-day lecture series offers an interactive case-based review of common endocrine problems encountered in clinical practice. Presentations will be tailored with the needs of general practitioners and general internists in mind, but the event will also be open to other specialists, pharmacists, and nurses with an interest in endocrine practice.

External Review of Primary Care Substance Use Screening Guideline

May 8, 2026

The BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU) has developed a clinical guideline to support uptake of a new Lifetime Prevention Schedule maneuver: screening for substance use, and they're looking for external reviewers.

The guideline was developed by an expert committee of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, policymakers, and people with lived and living experience, led by Dr. Christy Sutherland and Dr. Sarah Mark. The external review aims to validate the recommendations, confirm feasibility, and identify any significant gaps or opportunities to strengthen the guidance.

Internal Medicine Review Course for Primary Care Providers

The Internal Medicine Review Course for Primary Care Providers is an in-person, small-group continuing education course running May 11–14, 2026, at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC.

Organized by the Providence Health Care Department of Medicine, it offers primary care providers direct access to local subspecialists across 14 specialties through case-based learning sessions designed to deliver practical, immediately applicable clinical guidance. The course is capped at 6–8 participants per session and is accredited for up to 20 Mainpro+® credits.

Internal Medicine Review Course for Primary Care Providers

Calibre: Practical Clinical Strategies for Obesity Management

May 12, 2026

Calibre is an online obesity care training program grounded in Canada's Adult Obesity Clinical Practice Guidelines, combining live and self-paced modules with interactive, case-based learning. It covers everything from pathophysiology and bias to psychological, pharmacological, and surgical treatments, with a focus on practical, patient-centred application.

Cohort 14 runs May 12 through June 16, 2025, featuring live sessions with six expert faculty.

The program is accredited for up to 16.75 Mainpro+ credits for family physicians, 16.75 Group Two CME credits toward ABOM certification, and up to 22.15 Section 3 Self-Assessment hours for Royal College specialists.

June 6-9, 2026

The Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CACAP) is holding its 45th Annual Conference June 6–9, 2026, in St. John's, Newfoundland (with a virtual option). This year's theme is "It Takes a Village", and centres on collaboration in child and youth psychiatry care and research.

Over three days, attendees can expect keynotes, symposia, workshops, and networking sessions covering research, clinical practice, system-level collaboration, and culturally informed care. The conference welcomes clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and advocates.

Join the Canadian Doctor's Orchestra

The Canadian Doctors Orchestra (CDO) is a new national non-profit that unites physicians, residents, and medical students who play orchestral music. Participants prepare individually from shared repertoire, then gather in a host city for two days of rehearsals and a public charity concert. The inaugural event is set for Victoria, BC in December 2026, with all proceeds going to health-related charities. Beyond the music, the CDO aims to build community among healthcare professionals and support wellness outside of clinical practice.

Created by expert physiatrists and backed by evidence, the Spinal Cord Injury Research Evidence (SCIRE) team partnered with SCI-BC and the UBC Department Family of Practice to create four 1-hour courses that give you the info you need on Bladder Management, Skin Health, Blood Pressure Irregularities, and Cardiovascular Health in people with SCI.

Online and presented in short video form, you can earn your CME credits (MainPro+ 1.0 for each 1-hour course) at your own pace and schedule for free.
