IS YOUR PRACTICE READY TO BE A PATIENT’S MEDICAL HOME?
How can we create a Patient’s Medical Home (PMH) for our patients? Are there aspects of our practice that already support a medical home model? What might we need to do differently? How will the funding work? How will we know if our medical home model is making a difference?
IMPORTANT! PROVIDE INPUT ON PHARMACIST PRESCRIBING IN BC
The College of Pharmacists of British Columbia is proposing a significant increase in the scope of pharmacist prescribing in this province. As this will impact every family practice, it’s important that family physicians practicing in BC learn more about the Certified Pharmacist Prescriber Draft Framework and provide input by the July 15 deadline using the College of Pharmacists’ online survey.
Mainpro+ LAUNCH ALERT
Mainpro+®, the College’s new online reporting platform will launch on June 27. Look for emails from CFPC providing more detail. Mainpro+ is designed to make it much easier to access your credit summary, completed activities, in-progress activities and official transcripts.
JUST IN TIME LEARNING: JOIN US IN KELOWNA OCT. 22 FOR A UNIQUE CONFERENCE
If you are interested in learning about clinical care and practice management in one day, we have a unique “just in time” education opportunity for you on October 22 in Kelowna . BCCFP is partnering with the Society of General Practitioners (SGP) to provide a one-day conference that focuses on “what you need to know now” about both aspects of family medicine.
PMH RESOURCES INCLUDE SELF-ASSESSMENT TOOL
The CFPC has developed a self-reflective questionnaire to help you to analyze how closely your practice aligns with the principles of the PMH. The questionnaire also offers actionable advice and links to resources that can help you better align your practice with the PMH. In addition, a series of Best Advice Guides offer information directly related to addressing patient care and administrative needs in a PMH practice.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR AWARD RECIPIENTS!
Congratulations to Dr. David Attwell who received this year’s My Family Doctor Award earlier this month at the Spring Family Medicine Conference. Approximately 100 patients nominated their own family doctors for this popular award that recognizes the important relationship between family physician and patient.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IN DYING RESOURCE PAGE
