The College of Pharmacists of British Columbia is proposing a significant increase in the scope of pharmacist prescribing in this province. As this will impact every family practice, it’s important that family physicians practicing in BC learn more about the Certified Pharmacist Prescriber Draft Framework and provide input by the July 15 deadline using the College of Pharmacists’ online survey.

PMH RESOURCES INCLUDE SELF-ASSESSMENT TOOL

The CFPC has developed a self-reflective questionnaire to help you to analyze how closely your practice aligns with the principles of the PMH. The questionnaire also offers actionable advice and links to resources that can help you better align your practice with the PMH. In addition, a series of Best Advice Guides offer information directly related to addressing patient care and administrative needs in a PMH practice.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR AWARD RECIPIENTS!

Congratulations to Dr. David Attwell who received this year’s My Family Doctor Award earlier this month at the Spring Family Medicine Conference. Approximately 100 patients nominated their own family doctors for this popular award that recognizes the important relationship between family physician and patient.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IN DYING RESOURCE PAGE

Recognizing the importance of providing up-to-date information on medical assistance in dying to our members, BCCFP has created a Medical Assistance in Dying resource page with links to current resources. This includes links to: the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC’s professional guidelines and standards; CFPC updates and resources; and Government of Canada information about Bill C-14.

SAVE THE DATE FOR 2016 AGM

The 2016 BCCFP Annual General Meeting (AGM) is set for November 11. It’s scheduled to take place at lunchtime during the Family Medicine Forum, which will be held in Vancouver this fall. All members are welcome to attend.
