Nominations for two brand new BCCFP awards are due on May 8. The First Five Years of Practice Award will recognize an exceptional family physician in the early stage of his or her career. In addition, we have added a new Innovations in Primary Care Award that will recognize a BCCFP member who is working on local innovations in practice or health care delivery that improve patient, family or community care. Based on member feedback, we have also streamlined and simplified the award nominations process.
The new awards will replace the Awards of Excellence and Exceptional Contribution, including the awards for research or teaching. Family physicians who are nominated for either of the new awards, or for the My Family Doctor Award, will also be considered for the CFPC’s Reg L. Perkin award for BC Family Physician of the Year.
