The CCFP (Certification in the College of Family Physicians) is the national standard for training and certification in family medicine. Family medicine residents or practicing physicians in Canada can become CCFP-certified and add the CCFP designation to their title.

The Certification Examination in Family Medicine is open to College members who have either successfully completed an approved residency training program in family medicine or successfully completed a combination of training and practice experience.

Once you complete the CCFP, you will be awarded Certification in Family Medicine and will be CCFP-certified. You can maintain these credentials through your ongoing membership in the BCCFP and your participation in the College’s Maintenance of Certification Program (Mainpro+).
