During the pandemic, family doctors are playing a prominent role, screening and assessing patients either virtually or in person in assessment centres or emergency rooms. The presentation of COVID-19 in patients ranges from asymptomatic to cold/flu symptoms to more severe disease. Clinicians have encountered a range of challenges during this pandemic including enforcing testing criteria, shortages of testing kits, and caring for vulnerable populations.

The next live-stream webinar will focus on reviewing the clinical presentation of COVID-19 and the course of illness, practical aspects of viral testing, and early guidance for community patients.

Dr. Jared Bullard (microbiologist and infectious disease consultant in Manitoba) and Dr. Naheed Dosani (family physician working COVID assessment centres in Ontario), along with host Dr. Mike Allan of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), will lead the discussion. This session will include time for questions and will be useful for all family doctors assessing patients with possible COVID-19 symptoms.

This session will be available in English only.

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning activity has been certified by the CFPC for one Mainpro+® credit.

If you miss a live-stream webinar, you can access recordings online. Recorded live-stream webinars are eligible for non-certified credits in the Self-Learning category. Mainpro+ participants may also earn certified credits by completing a Linking Learning Exercise.
