Doctors of BC has published The Doctor is In: Recommendations for expanding in-person care in community-based physician practices.

Prepared by physicians for physicians, the document summarizes and compiles the guidelines from the Provincial Health Officer, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, WorkSafeBC and BCCDC. It also provides insights and templates to support the effective implementation of changes resulting from the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, and covers topics such as:

  • What to think about before expanding in-person care
  • Preparing staff and physical office space
  • Developing a safety plan
  • Building physician and staff wellness and resilience
  • Checklists and a template to develop individualized plans

WorkSafe BC also put out a strong recommendation that all physician offices have WorkSafe BC coverage for themselves and any employees. Many may already have this protection but for those who don’t, they strongly recommend obtaining personal option protection and are currently prioritizing physician applications.
