We encourage all of our members to respond to the CFPC’s survey by September 20th about a proposal to work toward discontinuing health care/pharmaceutical industry (HPI) booths in the Exhibit Hall at Family Medicine Forum (FMF) over the next three to five years.
Our Family Medicine Conferences have been industry free for a number of years and there is evidence of the impact of pharmaceutical marketing on physician prescribing and how it can create unconscious bias even if we don’t feel that we have been influenced.
Note that the email from CFPC was sent on Monday September 9. The results of this survey are non-binding and will be shared for further discussion at the CFPC’s Annual Meeting of Members at FMF on October 31, 2019.
