We are pleased to provide you with the College of Family Physicians of Canada’s (CFPC’s) 2016–2017 Annual Report. It reflects some of our major accomplishments from the past fiscal year in three key areas: Leadership, Lifelong Learning and Innovation in Service.
The past year saw progress on some major initiatives. To name a few, we continued the implementation of our Board restructuring, wrapped up the 2013-2017 strategic plan and implemented an extensive consultation process for the 2017-2022 plan. We launched Mainpro+®, advanced our commitment to family medicine globally and introduced governance changes to the Foundation for Advancing Family Medicine. We collaborated with our valued members, Chapters and health care colleagues to advance important work on access to care, Indigenous health, resident accreditation, research readiness, addressing the opioid crisis, developing new tools and resources for members and updating the Patient’s Medical Home. These and many other priority initiatives were implemented while maintaining our core programs and high service standards for our members. The annual report just hits the highlights, but we hope that you will share our appreciation of the tremendous work that has been accomplished to support CFPC members and family medicine in Canada.
The annual report also provides brief update from each our provincial Chapters, recognition of College committee and section members, and financial information from the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
It’s impressive to reflect on all that we have achieved over the past year. Our sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to this success. We couldn’t do it without you and we are proud that we are making strides together!
Sincerely,
