REAL Groups integral to BCCFP’s expanded CPD strategy

Starting September 2017, Resiliency Education and Learning (REAL) Groups will become an integral part of the BCCFP expanded CPD strategy. This small group learning model gives family physicians an opportunity to direct their own CPD. REAL Groups meet the needs of real family physicians by addressing real practice issues in order to affect the care of real patients. If you are not already part of a group, we can match you with like-minded family physicians in your community. Each group meets on an ongoing basis to reflect on your current practice and discuss ways to support positive change.

Team-based care resources for REAL Groups

We are proud to offer a new series of team-based care small group learning session materials for REAL Groups that have been developed in collaboration with the General Practitioner Services Committee (GPSC) and the Office of UBC Health. The series consists of nine sessions that support participants to integrate team-based models of care into practice. You can earn three Mainpro+ Credits per session.

After working through the materials, REAL Group members also have the option to work with a Regional Support Team (RST) Coordinator or Peer Mentor to plan for and start to implement a practice change, receiving up to two hours sessional payment and additional credits for time spent doing this work.
